The Unraveling
one word to describe every year of my life
The Unraveling
i. Stirred from dusts into creation; ii. Witness to the weight of love; iii. Twirling along with fairytales' pulsation; iv. Learning that fairytales aren't enough; v. Stretching my roots into friendship's soil; vi. Confronted with compassion's weight; vii. Burdened for harvest-fields yet untoiled; viii. Tumbling down the harrowing hollow of hate; ix. Enshrouding hope's flesh in a casket named "fear;" x. Digging the hole into which the casket was buried; xi. Dissolving in grief as the box of death disappeared; xii. Hostility blooming where hopefulness tarried; xiii. Repulsed by the monster I saw in my frame; xiv. Trembling bones bound up by bitterness; xv. Jolted awake to the Sunlight aflame; xvi. Romanced by the hymn of redemption's kiss; xvii. Sowing my prayers in a labor of tears; xviii. Rhyming my heartbeat with the presence of God; xix. Waltzing until I untangle my fears... I shall add to this poem as I add to my years.
